For those who know nothing about the Bible, to open one up and start to read makes little sense.. but if you take a look you’ll see that there’s much wisdom inside!

The Bible was designed to be as relevant today as it was when it was penned and it’s surprising how relevant it is because no matter what’s going on in the world around us, we’re all created with the same needs and when we read the Bible, our blueprint for life, we keep our souls out of trouble.

Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us. 2 Timothy 3:16 MSG:

The bible is so practical! Here are some examples of wisdom you’ll glean from God’s Word:

Lady Wisdom Calls Out:

Listen to me! For I have important information for you. Everything I say is right and true, for I hate lies and every kind of deception.
My advice is wholesome and good. There is nothing of evil in it.
My words are plain and clear to anyone with half a mind—if it is only open!
My instruction is far more valuable than silver or gold.”
For the value of wisdom is far above rubies; nothing can be compared with it. Proverbs 8:6-11 NLT

Don’t make promises you can’t keep:

Don’t be a fool who… makes rash promises to God, for He is in heaven and you are only here on earth, so let your words be few. Just as being too busy gives you nightmares, so being a fool makes you a blabbermouth. Ecclesiastes 5:2

The consequence of anger:

The hotheaded do things they’ll later regret;
the coldhearted get the cold shoulder. Proverbs 14:17 MSG

Answering before listening is both stupid and rude. Proverbs 18:13

The stupid ridicule right and wrong, but a moral life is a favoured life. Proverbs 14:9
Be careful what you say:
The man of few words and settled mind is wise; therefore, even a fool is thought to be wise when he is silent. It pays him to keep his mouth shut. Proverbs 17:27 TLB &
Keep your mouth closed and you’ll stay out of trouble. Proverbs 21:23 TLB

Guard your heart: Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts.

Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth;
avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip.
Keep your eyes straight ahead;
ignore all sideshow distractions.
Watch your step,
and the road will stretch out smooth before you.
Look neither right nor left;
leave evil in the dust. Proverbs 4:24-27 MSG

Choose to be kind:

Mean people spread mean gossip;
their words smart and burn.
Troublemakers start fights;
gossips break up friendships. Proverbs 16:27-28 MSG

About self-control:

A person without self-control is like a house with its doors and windows knocked out. Proverbs 25:28 MSG

Words can kill or destroy:

Words kill, words give life;
they’re either poison or fruit—you choose.
Proverbs 18:21 MSG

You can tame a tiger, but you can’t tame a tongue—it’s never been done. The tongue runs wild, a wanton killer. With our tongues we bless God our Father; with the same tongues we curse the very men and women he made in his image. Curses and blessings out of the same mouth!
James 3:9-10 MSG

Whoever whitewashes the wicked
gets a black mark in the history books,
But whoever exposes the wicked
will be thanked and rewarded. Proverbs 24:24 MSG

Hard work always pays off;
mere talk puts no bread on the table. Proverbs 14:23 MSG

Work hard so God can say to you, “Well done.” Be a good workman, one who does not need to be ashamed when God examines your work. Know what his Word says and means. 2 Timothy 2:15

You see the Bible is full of practical help to keep us happy and whole and ready to stand before Him one day and explain what we did with the choices He gave us to do with His Son. If you don’t have a Bible you can click onto any of the bible references at the end of each section and you will be directed to a Bible website where you can seek more information about God and His Word.

If you care, please share and help bring light to our increasingly dark world for Jesus sake – Amen
