Navigating Life's Challenges

In this world of increasing chaos and fear.
With each new day bringing challenges for all we hold dear.
News broadcast remind us of the horrors of life
And fears of a Pandemic right now causing such strife.

Life’s journey is a lot like navigating a maze,
For w know what we need, but how to get there’s in a haze.
We see only glimpses of what we must do
Holding some puzzle pieces as we make our way through.

Not knowing what we’re in for, we take this way and that,
For we can’t know the best way, from the level that we’re at.

To look above life’s ‘hedges’ blocking our view,
We’d see more easily, the simplest way through.

But does life ever offer that easy bridge to climb
To understand for sure which is the right path every time?

As we continue through life with it’s disappointments and strife
Relying on our own strength means nothing changes in life.

For we think at that moment, we’re on the right track
But in hindsight we realise how very much we lack

Think of a cross with two posts nailed together
Pointing north, south, east, west, it’s our choice as to whether
we’ll take the high road, with God as our guide
Or continue stepping sideways on paths either side.

When muddling through trials that sometimes will falter,
We become aware of our limits and our need for an altar.
Our need for an altar? What does that mean?
How does an altar reveal what won’t otherwise be seen?

God’s plan for us isn’t confusion and stewing
His clear guidance waits each time trouble is brewing
When we realise our weakness and the things we’ve done wrong
That’s the turning point for us to become wise and strong.

For there’s One who watches over us, seeing every step we take
And that innocent One, Jesus, chose the cross for our sake!
He sees our end from beginning and He knows the way through
That bridge we need is Jesus, who died for me and you.

We can all be free from the struggle and stress
If we bow in reverence and to Jesus confess
That without Him we’re nothing and we need Him as our guide
To daily guide us staying right by our side.

When He went to the cross to die for you
He paid our debt, now there’s no more to do
But to go and tell others they can also be free
