Moving Beyond Worry and Anxiety
Here Joyce Meyer explains how to move beyond worry and anxiety.
No-one is just a worrier. Worry sees the problem but it doesn’t see God.
When everything was hopeless, Abraham believed anyway, deciding to live not on the basis of what he saw he couldn’t do but on what God said he would do. And so he was made father of a multitude of peoples. God himself said to him, “You’re going to have a big family, Abraham!”
Abraham didn’t focus on his own impotence and say, “It’s hopeless. This hundred-year-old body could never father a child.” Nor did he survey Sarah’s decades of infertility and give up. Romans 4:18 MSG
God is greater than any problem that you have. Pray. Faith sees God. It’s impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists and that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6 MSG
God is here. He is and He has a plan and at the right time God will execute that plan.
Whenever someone prays for help, God has someone who will execute that plan
“The Israelite cry for help has come to me and I’ve seen for myself how cruelly they’re being treated by the Egyptians. 10 It’s time for you to go back: I’m sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people, the People of Israel, out of Egypt.”
Moses answered God, “But why me? What makes you think that I could ever go to Pharaoh and lead the children of Israel out of Egypt?” “I’ll be with you,” God said. “And this will be the proof that I am the one who sent you: When you have brought my people out of Egypt, you will worship God right here at this very mountain.”
Then Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the People of Israel and I tell them, ‘The God of your fathers sent me to you’; and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ What do I tell them?”
God said to Moses, “I-AM-WHO-I-AM. Tell the People of Israel, ‘I-AM sent me to you.’” Exodus 3:9-14 MSG
Only God can give peace and hope. The promises of God are for you! Believe God.
But Jesus spoke to them at once. “It’s all right,” he said. “I am here! Don’t be afraid.” Matthew 14:27 NLT
God will either remove the problem or give you the strength and ability to go through the problem. If you can say I don’t understand this but I know God will work it out, if you can trust God enough to leave that choice up to him you won’t be miserable.
Trust God!
Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up and be alert to what is going on around Christ – that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective. Colossians 3:2 NLT
