“Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” – Leo Tolstoy

Our life is just like a bubble, here today and gone tomorrow. We don’t know when ours will come to an end. So what’s life all about? Is there a purpose for my existence?

What about Jesus? What if, when your life comes to an end, you learn that all history ever said about Jesus and His sacrifice on the cross were true. Imagine what it would be like if you finally understood Him but it was too late to turn to Him for forgiveness?

The Bible says God wants to have mercy and abundantly pardon us! –
Isaiah 55:6-7

And what then? What about life after death?

That was the experience of a Rich man who wasn’t kind when he had the chance and discovered the truth after his life was over. Click here to read it for yourself in Luke 16:19:31

When he died, this rich man still had all his senses, he could think, reason, wish for more, he still felt the love in his heart for his family and wanted to make life better for them, but he was powerless to activate his thoughts or desires. He knew his predicament was final and he couldn’t change his circumstances.

Imagine that! It sounds like hell to me. Being hungry, thirsty, lonely, in need of love but learning all who could have loved you are out of reach, that you are lost, without any hope of being found.

Being a Christian means we are never lost or alone. It also means you don’t have to worry about what you should do next.

There is life after death!

I’ve recently found this passage about Samuel coming back from the dead:
Now Samuel had died, and all Israel had mourned for him and buried him in Ramah, his own city. 1 Samuel 28:3

Samuel actually seemed annoyed when Saul called him back from the grave to ask him for guidance. See 1 Samuel 28:12-17

Many instances in the Bible detail the account of those who were raised from the dead

Saul wanted an immediate response from God, but God remained silent so he panicked and looked for another solution for guidance, however, God says He will never leave us or forsake us".

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28-30 MSG

The Lord is my revelation-light to guide me along the way;
He’s the source of my salvation to defend me every day. I fear no one!
I’ll never turn back and run from you, Lord; surround and protect me. Psalm 27 TPT

God makes everything come out right;
he puts victims back on their feet.
He showed Moses how he went about his work,
opened up his plans to all Israel.
God is sheer mercy and grace;
not easily angered, he’s rich in love.
He doesn’t endlessly nag and scold,
nor hold grudges forever.
He doesn’t treat us as our sins deserve,
nor pay us back in full for our wrongs.
As high as heaven is over the earth,
so strong is his love to those who fear him.
And as far as sunrise is from sunset,
he has separated us from our sins.
As parents feel for their children,
God feels for those who fear him.
He knows us inside and out,
keeps in mind that we’re made of mud.
Men and women don’t live very long;
like wildflowers they spring up and blossom,
But a storm snuffs them out just as quickly,
leaving nothing to show they were here.
God’s love, though, is ever and always,
eternally present to all who fear him,
Making everything right for them and their children
as they follow his Covenant ways
and remember to do whatever he said. Psalm 103:15

God says:

You can rationalize it all you want and justify the path of error you have chosen,
but you’ll find out in the end that you took the road to destruction. Proverbs 14:12

In this world of darkness, it’s easy to become depressed, but when I focus on the realities of what Jesus did for me and what’s up ahead, no matter what I go through, all will be well.

You can also have this assurance, if you want to.
