What does love look like?

We can be attracted in by many things when looking for someone to spend the rest of our life with. Feelings of love are wonderful and can sweep us off our feet but feelings usually change at the end of the ‘honeymoon’ period and the reality of our commitment sets in.

So is it possible to be sure our marriage won’t end in divorce like so many marriages today? The answer is yes!

How can we be sure we’ve chosen the right life partner before taking the plunge? Someone that won’t crumble in hard times, one with real love that lasts forever?

What does real love look like? Once again the Bible has all the wisdom we need to determine whether we are making the right choice. In the Bible God says:

Be sure the one you choose will love, honour and respect you enough to be with you until death do you part. These verses have much wisdom. It is possible to find someone who will love you this way so don’t settle for less.

Marriage will only work when both partners are committed to work at it, even when they don’t feel like it. Problems will come but a lifetime commitment to each other ‘for better or for worse’ will keep your marriage strong.
