...And Yet He Waits

I was recently unfriended by a long time Facebook friend saying: “You haven’t even understood your own message…the one about love” after I remarked about this gay nativity scene with no Mary, just two men in pink robes bowing before Jesus.

As we near the end of this age I wonder, how long God will stand for such blasphemy before He returns to claim His own and finally put an end to this evil age and yet He waits, so what holds Him back?

These verses in the Bible explain:
He isn’t really being slow about his promised return, even though it sometimes seems that way. But he is waiting, because he is not willing that any should perish, and he is giving more time for sinners to repent.

Did you know Jesus is coming back?

The day of the Lord is surely coming, as unexpectedly as a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the heavenly bodies will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be burned up.

And so since everything around us is going to melt away, what holy, godly lives we should be living! You should look forward to that day and hurry it along—the day when God will set the heavens on fire, and the heavenly bodies will melt and disappear in flames. But we are looking forward to God’s promise of new heavens and a new earth afterwards, where there will be only goodness.

Dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen and for him to come, try hard to live without sinning; and be at peace with everyone so that he will be pleased with you when he returns.

And remember why he is waiting….

He is giving us time to get his message of salvation out to others. Our wise and beloved brother Paul has talked about these same things in many of his letters. Some of his comments are not easy to understand… they have twisted His letters around to mean something quite different from what He meant, just as they do the other parts of the Scripture—and the result is disaster for them. 2 Peter 3:8-10

God made it clear there is disaster ahead for those who reject His love.

Real love, is coming to the world to die for us so that we, though we don’t deserve it, can be forgiven. There is no greater love!

I must stand up for Jesus when He is mocked at a time when we should be celebrating His birth, not mocking Him. I know my bible and the predictions of what is to come before the end of the age and this is part of the end… God will not be mocked and we will all stand before Him and explain our actions, believe it or not. I’m sorry if you no longer want to be my friend. You can unfriend me if you feel this strongly but I’ll be sorry to see you go.

The inevitability of life’s harvest – Don’t be under any illusion: you cannot make a fool of God!
A man’s harvest in life will depend entirely on what he sows. If he sows for his own lower nature his harvest will be the decay and death of his own nature. But if he sows for the Spirit he will reap the harvest of everlasting life by that Spirit. Let us not grow tired of doing good, for, unless we throw in our hand, the ultimate harvest is assured. Let us then do good to all men as opportunity offers, especially to those who belong to the Christian household. Galatians 6:7

Simple Faith and Plain Truth
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Savior God wants us to live.

He wants not only us but everyone saved, you know, everyone to get to know the truth we’ve learned: that there’s one God and only one, and one Priest-Mediator between God and us—Jesus, who offered himself in exchange for everyone held captive by sin, to set them all free. Eventually the news is going to get out. This and this only has been my appointed work: getting this news to those who have never heard of God, and explaining how it works by simple faith and plain truth. 1 Timothy 2:3–6

God has plans for all who don’t want His love – read it here in Romans 1:18-32

The Day the Sky Will Collapse
Don’t overlook the obvious here, friends. With God, one day is as good as a thousand years, a thousand years as a day. God isn’t late with his promise as some measure lateness. He is restraining himself on account of you, holding back the End because he doesn’t want anyone lost. He’s giving everyone space and time to change.

I cannot take credit for this beautiful photo showing the ultimate power of God.

But when the Day of God’s Judgment does come, it will be unannounced, like a thief. The sky will collapse with a thunderous bang, everything disintegrating in a huge conflagration, earth and all its works exposed to the scrutiny of Judgment.

So, my very dear friends, don’t get thrown off course. Every desirable and beneficial gift comes out of heaven. The gifts are rivers of light cascading down from the Father of Light. There is nothing deceitful in God, nothing two-faced, nothing fickle. He brought us to life using the true Word, showing us off as the crown of all his creatures. James 1:17

Generous in love—God, give grace!
Huge in mercy—wipe out my bad record.
Scrub away my guilt,
soak out my sins in your laundry.
I know how bad I’ve been;
my sins are staring me down. Psalm 51:1-3

His love for us knows no end.

This affects everyone so please pass it on – thank you! 2018 Elaine Costin – Capturing Sunrise / Blog
