Will A Sceptic Find God?

Perception is a powerful thing. We base our beliefs on what we perceive. But what we believe influences our choices, so what if what we believe is flawed? What then?

Maybe their tight schedule kept them from waiting, these ones who came, looked, took a photo then were on their way again believing this was just another pink lake that wasn’t pink after all, but they were wrong. Expecting a pink lake to be pink is the best way to see the pink lake, being prepared to stop, look and wait for conditions to be perfect.

But we’ve been here often enough to know that this lake is vivid pink when at midday the sun is overhead.

Through life we can often miss something profound if we’re preoccupied, or in the wrong place or if we doubt the reality of what we’re told.

If we’re abused we’ll find it hard to trust in love, but love still remains.

If we’ve been disappointed over and over again we’ll learn not to trust, but trust remains.

If we live with fear, putting faith in another is a huge obstacle to overcome, but faith still remains.

If we’ve followed a path to God that we were told was the truth but that path has left you disappointed and wanting more I can personally testify to you that God will never let you down if you put your trust in Him!

Sometimes our own experiences can block us from the truth but doubters and sceptics can miss out on what’s real if their perception is clouded by past disappointments or if the become closed to an opportunity before them if they fear what they don’t understand.

But like those who didn’t see the pink lake in all its glory, it doesn’t change the fact that this pink lake is in fact pink!

Sometimes our own reasoning will block the truth but God says..

Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
don’t try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
he’s the one who will keep you on track.
Don’t assume that you know it all.
Run to God! Run from evil!
Your body will glow with health,
your very bones will vibrate with life!
Honour God with everything you own;
give him the first and the best.
Your barns will burst,
your wine vats will brim over.
But don’t, dear friend, resent God’s discipline;
don’t sulk under his loving correction.
It’s the child he loves that God corrects;
a father’s delight is behind all this.

Work happily together. Don’t try to act big. Don’t try to get into the good graces of important people, but enjoy the company of ordinary folks. And don’t think you know it all! Romans 12:16 TLB
