Gospel Truth

According to the Bible, God created a perfect world, we just have to look around us to know that’s true!

And He created humankind perfect, giving us the ability to reason, to make decisions, to decide what’s best for us.

He gave us an instruction manual, the Bible, to explain how to best live in this perfect world – but He lets us decide whether or not to read it.

Adam, the first man, made a choice to do the one thing God asked him not to do. When he and Eve chose to go their own way, this perfect world God had created became imperfect because when God’s way is rejected, there are always consequences.

Everything changed at that moment of disobedience and we all pay the price.
Here’s the Bible account of God’s decree at that moment:

God told the serpent:

“Because you’ve done this, you’re cursed,
cursed beyond all cattle and wild animals,
Cursed to slink on your belly
and eat dirt all your life.
I’m declaring war between you and the Woman,
between your offspring and hers.
He’ll wound your head,
you’ll wound his heel.”

He told the Woman:

“I’ll multiply your pains in childbirth;
you’ll give birth to your babies in pain.
You’ll want to please your husband,
but he’ll lord it over you.”

He told the Man:

“Because you listened to your wife
and ate from the tree
That I commanded you not to eat from,
‘Don’t eat from this tree,’
The very ground is cursed because of you;
getting food from the ground
Will be as painful as having babies is for your wife;
you’ll be working in pain all your life long.
The ground will sprout thorns and weeds,
you’ll get your food the hard way,
Planting and tilling and harvesting,
sweating in the fields from dawn to dusk,
Until you return to that ground yourself, dead and buried;
you started out as dirt, you’ll end up dirt.” Genesis 3:14-19 MSG

Adam’s choice brought sin, shame, hatred, murder and every other kind of evil into the world, separating us from God forever.

We still have the choice to decided what is right and we still live with the consequence of our choices.
Even when we want to do good we don’t always get it right.

That’s why Jesus came needed to come and die for us. He took all our shame, our mistakes and failures onto Himself and was crucified in our place so that the price for our wrong doing could be forgiven and we could again be near to God. But it’s our choice to accept or reject Him and we will receive the consequences for our decision. When we stand before Jesus on Judgement Day we will either experience eternal nearness to God or eternal damnation for rejecting Him. Which way will you choose?

If you publicly declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will experience salvation. Romans 10:9 TPT

Have you accepted the invitation from Jesus Christ to join His family? Are you bound for heaven? Is your life a reflection of Jesus?

Think about your most treasured position? Can you take it with you when you go?

Only what’s done for Jesus will last into eternity. When Jesus was obedient in dying on the cross for us…

God lifted Jesus high and honoured him far beyond anyone or anything, ever, so that all created beings in heaven and on earth—even those long ago dead and buried—will bow in worship before this Jesus Christ, and call out in praise that he is the Master of all, to the glorious honour of God the Father. Philippians 2:11

Just as it is written:

“As surely as I am the Living God, I tell you:
‘Every knee will bow before me
and every tongue will confess the truth
and glorify me!’ ”

Therefore, each one must answer for himself and give a personal account of his own life before God. Romans 14:11-12 TPT

What we do with this gift of life here on earth will be tested. What will mark your time here on earth?

The Bible talks about when Jesus returns we will all be judged…

“When he finally arrives, blazing in beauty and all his angels with him, the Son of Man will take his place on his glorious throne. Then all the nations will be arranged before him and he will sort the people out, much as a shepherd sorts out sheep and goats, putting sheep to his right and goats to his left.

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Enter, you who are blessed by my Father! Take what’s coming to you in this kingdom. It’s been ready for you since the world’s foundation. And here’s why:

I was hungry and you fed me,
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink,
I was homeless and you gave me a room,
I was shivering and you gave me clothes,
I was sick and you stopped to visit,
I was in prison and you came to me.’

“Then those ‘sheep’ are going to say, ‘Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see you hungry and feed you, thirsty and give you a drink? And when did we ever see you sick or in prison and come to you?’ Then the King will say, ‘I’m telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me—you did it to me.’

“Then he will turn to the ‘goats,’ the ones on his left, and say, ‘Get out, worthless goats! You’re good for nothing but the fires of hell. And why? Because—

I was hungry and you gave me no meal,
I was thirsty and you gave me no drink,
I was homeless and you gave me no bed,
I was shivering and you gave me no clothes,
Sick and in prison, and you never visited.’

“Then those ‘goats’ are going to say, ‘Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or homeless or shivering or sick or in prison and didn’t help?’

“He will answer them, ‘I’m telling the solemn truth: Whenever you failed to do one of these things to someone who was being overlooked or ignored, that was me—you failed to do it to me.’

“Then those ‘goats’ will be herded to their eternal doom, but the ‘sheep’ to their eternal reward.”
Matthew 25:21-46 The Message (MSG)

That’s God’s heart. He wants everyone loved, cherished, accepted and the only way for that to happen is for us to start focusing on why we’re here. Regardless of what we’ve been through or are going through, we are here to tell the world of His supreme love, sacrifice and forgiveness and we won’t be truly happy until we step into God’s plan for us!
I am standing in absolute stillness, silent before the one I love,
waiting as long as it takes for him to rescue me.
Only God is my Savior, and he will not fail me. Psalm 62:5
