The God Of The Impossible

Today was our last day of Autumn, a cold windy morning that had me huddled under the bridge for protection against the icy winds. Brrr. Winter isn’t here until tomorrow but it’s already making its presence felt.

As I waited for the sun to rise I as watched pelicans flew into the netted swimming area, then began to pluck unsuspecting fish from the waters, one by one as an easy meal.

These fish, born into the enclosed fishing area had been safe and protected for all of their lives, but now they were large enough for the pelicans to see them as a satisfying meal.

Suddenly, for the first time in their lives they were trapped and in serious danger as one by one they were plucked from the water and to be no more.

If they’d understood that a quick leap across the barrier they called home could have freed them, they may have had a better chance at freedom.

But aren’t we sometimes like those fish who are offered a chance of redemption, forgiveness, a new start, the beginning of an abundant life?
