Wife Swapping For Jesus?

Is it ever ok for a Christian to wife swap?
The Bible is so relevant for today and has much to say about what this couple and their beliefs.

Honor marriage, and guard the sacredness of sexual intimacy between wife and husband. God draws a firm line against casual and illicit sex. Hebrews 13:4-7

It has come to my attention that ‘Devout Christian’ Wife Swappers say they are spreading the word of God through swinging as God’s plan for them!"

My husband’s first reaction was, “What’s actually on their mind when they engage in these practices?” Great question, but the more I searched, the more I learned about how common this is!

This is wrong on so many levels and when deception takes over it’s difficult to find the truth.

Charles Swindoll writes: "Lust is lurking and no-one is immuned. Lust is no respecter of persons, its alluring voice can infiltrate the most intelligent mind, causing victims to believe it’s lies and respond to it’s appeal. Beware, it never gives up and never runs out of ideas. Bolt your front door and it will rattle at your bedroom window, crawl into the living room through the TV Screen or wink at you from a magazine. Lust is persistent. If it’s knocked on your door once it will knock again and again. You are safe just as long as you draw on our Saviour’s strength.

Try to handle it yourself and you’ll loose every time. This is why we are warned again and again in the New Testament to flee sexual temptation. Remember lust is committed to wage war on your soul in a life and death struggle, hand to hand combat. Don’t stand before this mortal enemy and argue and fight in your own strength, run for cover.

If you get yourself into a situation that leaves you defenseless and weak, if your door is left even slightly ajar you may be sure that this ancient enemy will kick it open, so don’t leave it open, don’t give lust a foothold or even a toehold."

In the Bible God has much to say to Christians about sex – here are just a few:
Sexual sin is never right: our bodies were not made for that but for the Lord, and the Lord wants to fill our bodies with himself. And God is going to raise our bodies from the dead by his power just as he raised up the Lord Jesus Christ. Don’t you realize that your bodies are actually parts and members of Christ? So should I take part of Christ and join him to a prostitute? Never! And don’t you know that if a man joins himself to a prostitute she becomes a part of him and he becomes a part of her? For God tells us in the Scripture that in his sight the two become one person. But if you give yourself to the Lord, you and Christ are joined together as one person.

That is why I say to run from sex sin. No other sin affects the body as this one does. This sin is against your own body. Haven’t you yet learned that your body is the home of the Holy Spirit God gave you, and that he lives within you? Your own body does not belong to you. For God has bought you with a great price. So use every part of your body to give glory back to God because he owns it. 1 Corinthians 16:12-20 TLB

For God wants you to be holy and pure and to keep clear of all sexual sin so that each of you will marry in holiness and honor— not in lustful passion as the heathen do, in their ignorance of God and his ways.

And this also is God’s will: that you never cheat in this matter by taking another man’s wife because the Lord will punish you terribly for this, as we have solemnly told you before. For God has not called us to be dirty-minded and full of lust but to be holy and clean. If anyone refuses to live by these rules, he is not disobeying the rules of men but of God who gives his Holy Spirit to you. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8

Away then with sinful, earthly things; deaden the evil desires lurking within you; have nothing to do with sexual sin, impurity, lust, and shameful desires; don’t worship the good things of life, for that is idolatry. God’s terrible anger is upon those who do such things. You used to do them when your life was still part of this world; but now is the time to cast off and throw away all these rotten garments of anger, hatred, cursing, and dirty language. Colossians 3:5-8TLB

And regarding these ones who are sadly deceived into believing God wants them to engage in sexual immorality to reach unbelievers for God, He says this:

“Not all who sound religious are really godly people. They may refer to me as ‘Lord,’ but still won’t get to heaven. For the decisive question is whether they obey my Father in heaven. At the Judgment many will tell me, ‘Lord, Lord, we told others about you and used your name to cast out demons and to do many other great miracles.’ But I will reply, ‘You have never been mine Go away, for your deeds are evil.’
Matthew 7:21-23

Right now Satan is the god of this world.

The whole world is under the control of the evil one. 1 John 5:19-21 TLB

“When He (Jesus) comes, He’ll expose the error of the godless world’s view of sin, righteousness, and judgment: He’ll show them that their refusal to believe in me is their basic sin; that righteousness comes from above, where I am with the Father, out of their sight and control; that judgment takes place as the ruler of this godless world is brought to trial and convicted.. John 16:11

The time for judging this world has come, when Satan, the ruler of this world, will be cast out. John 12:31 MSG

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. Romans 12:1-2 MSG

You’re cheating on God. If all you want is your own way, flirting with the world every chance you get, you end up enemies of God and his way. And do you suppose God doesn’t care? The proverb has it that “he’s a fiercely jealous lover.” And what he gives in love is far better than anything else you’ll find. It’s common knowledge that “God goes against the willful proud; God gives grace to the willing humble. James 4:4-6 MSG

Don’t love the world’s ways. Don’t love the world’s goods. Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father. Practically everything that goes on in the world—wanting your own way, wanting everything for yourself, wanting to appear important—has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from him. The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out—but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity. 1 John 2:15-17 MSG
