Is Halloween Harmless Fun?

I knew nothing of Halloween, this celebration popularized in Australia in recent years, but when I saw my granddaughter dressed up in a Halloween costume and ready to hit the streets my spirit knew something wasn’t right. Why was this event that is so accepted by parents making me feel uneasy?

So I did some research and here’s what I found, but be warned, some of what you’re about to read is pretty alarming…

Happy All Saints day! Cheers to all the living saints among us! This greeting I found on my Facebook Newsfeed following the celebration of Halloween.

Before condoning these activities, it’s good to be informed.

Halloween is celebrated around the world and people dress up in costumes, collect candy from neighbours and have parties, but do you ever take time to think about the origins of Halloween? Most people don’t think twice about participating in it saying “It’s all in fun” or “It’s not evil to me”, but is this so-called hallow evening really so innocent?

From the Satanic Bible states that Halloween is one of 2 most important days of the year for a Satanist.

The Satanic calendar states

- October 28-30:
Satanist High (Holy Day related to Halloween) relating to blood – human sacrifice each day any age (male or female)

- October 30-31:
All Hallows Eve and Halloween Night, relating to sexual climax, association with the demons, animal and/or human sacrifice of any age (male or female and/or animal)

- November 1
Satanist High (Holy Day related to Halloween) relating to blood with human sacrifice any age (male or female)

This isn’t some innocent celebration involving children getting candy.

Halloween is filled with darkness, from symbols of death, ghosts, devils and witches. We should not want to have anything to do with this. God wants us to be separate.

That is why the Lord has said, “Leave them; separate yourselves from them; don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you. 2 Corinthians 6:17

The Lord has warned us not to participate in or play around with these occultic ways.

“When you arrive in the Promised Land you must be very careful lest you be corrupted by the horrible customs of the nations now living there. For example, any Israeli who presents his child to be burned to death as a sacrifice to heathen gods must be killed. No Israeli may practice black magic, or call on the evil spirits for aid, or be a fortune-teller, or be a serpent charmer, medium, or wizard, or call forth the spirits of the dead. Anyone doing these things is an object of horror and disgust to the Lord, and it is because the nations do these things that the Lord your God will displace them. You must walk blamelessly before the Lord your God. The nations you replace all do these evil things, but the Lord your God will not permit you to do such things. Deuteronomy 18:9-14

Never give your hearts to this world or to any of the things in it. A man cannot love the Father and love the world at the same time. For the whole world-system, based as it is on men’s primitive desires, their greedy ambitions and the glamour of all that they think splendid, is not derived from the Father at all, but from the world itself. The world and all its passionate desires will one day disappear. But the man who is following God’s will is part of the permanent and cannot die. 1 John 2:15

Never damp the fire of the Spirit, and never despise what is spoken in the name of the Lord. By all means use your judgement, and hold on to whatever is really good, Steer clear of evil in any form. 1 Thessalonians 5:22

Wake up and live!
Why all this stress on behaviour? Because, as I think you have realised, the present time is of the highest importance—it is time to wake up to reality. Every day brings God’s salvation nearer. The night is nearly over, the day has almost dawned. Let us therefore fling away the things that men do in the dark, let us arm ourselves for the fight of the day! Let us live cleanly, as in the daylight, not in the “delights” of getting drunk or playing with sex, nor yet in quarrelling or jealousies. Let us be Christ’s men from head to foot, and give no chances to the flesh to have its fling.Romans 13:11-14

He asked us not to conform to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that we may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:12

Any satanic worship ritual thrust upon us is appauling, especially when ‘everyone is doing it’.

However, Anton Levey, Founder of the Church of Satan writes:
“I’m glad Christian parents let their children worship the devil at least one night out of the year!”

So do you still believe it’s harmless fun?

Romans 12:2 NLT says
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
