Who Is This Jesus Anyway?

Now this Jesus, King of Kings who came to earth as a baby to save us…..

This Jesus born in an animal shelter, the only place available to Him,
Who astounded religious leaders with His knowledge of scriptures while just a boy..

This Jesus who lived humbly with no royal privilege or respect as He lived a sinless life.

This Jesus who cast out demons, healed the sick, cured blind eyes, leprosy, restored crippled limbs and raised the dead to life….

This Jesus who was wrongly accused and sentenced to death, though they had no evidence against Him.

This Jesus who was publicly beaten and mocked, tried and convicted, then tortured on a cross until He drew His last breathe, as He hung alongside two convicted criminals paying the price for their sins…

This Jesus who knew all along what was ahead of Him… yet didn’t shy away from the horrors to come.

This Jesus who, as He was dying said “Father, forgive them; they do not know what they are doing.” as they distributed His clothes between themselves. Luke 23:34-35

After Jesus breathed his last, things supernatural took place:

At that moment, the Temple curtain was ripped in two, top to bottom. There was an earthquake, and rocks were split in pieces. What’s more, tombs were opened up, and many bodies of believers asleep in their graves were raised. (After Jesus’ resurrection, they left the tombs, entered the holy city, and appeared to many.)

The captain of the guard and those with him, when they saw the earthquake and everything else that was happening, were scared to death. They said, “This has to be the Son of God!” as recorded in Matthew 27:50-55

Paul witnessed Jesus alive again and recorded this:
The first thing I did was place before you what was placed so emphatically before me: that the Messiah died for our sins, exactly as Scripture tells it; that he was buried; that he was raised from death on the third day, again exactly as Scripture says; that he presented himself alive to Peter, then to his closest followers, and later to more than five hundred of his followers all at the same time, most of them still around (although a few have since died); that he then spent time with James and the rest of those he commissioned to represent him; and that he finally presented himself alive to me. It was fitting that I bring up the rear. I don’t deserve to be included in that inner circle, as you well know, having spent all those early years trying my best to stamp God’s church right out of existence. 1 Corinthians 15:4-9The Message

After He’d been buried for days Jesus rose again in victory, fulfilling the purpose of His coming and providing the ONLY WAY for us to come into the presence of God…

And that’s where Jesus is right now, praying for you:

He is able to save completely all who come to God through him. Since he will live forever, he will always be there to remind God that he has paid for your sins with his blood. Hebrews 7:25-28

Feel you don’t deserve His forgiveness?
The first people Jesus forgave were those who persecuted and crucified Him, so can He forgive you?

But the death of Jesus is just a waste if you don’t accept the gifts He offers.
Accept Him today and may His life be real in you as you step into all that He has planned…

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13
