The Coming of the Messiah

Jesus’ return to earth is both a Christian and an Islamic belief. The future return of Jesus was promised before Jesus ascended to heaven around two thousand years ago, based on messianic prophecies from that time.

Watch now as Joel Richardson explains how this story about Jesus returning is real and the day of His coming, we will see with our eyes.

Revelations 19

Jesus will descend from heaven, but where will he return to?

God Will Battle Jerusalem’s Foes – Then the Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones (believers, angels) with Him. Zechariah 14:1-5

He will stand on the Mount of Olives, in front of Jerusalem.

If the Saviour has come, why will people start running away?

He will come back via a procession with a sword in His hand.

The dawning of the sun, with light shooting out from His hands

Yahweh will come with His angels –
“The Lord came (will come) to us at Mount Sinai,
And dawned upon us from Mount Seir;
He shone from Mount Paran,
Surrounded by ten thousands of holy angels,
And with flaming fire at his right hand. Deuteronomy 33:1-2

The Voiceless Break into Song
Wilderness and desert will sing joyously,
the badlands will celebrate and flower—
Like the crocus in spring, bursting into blossom,
a symphony of song and color.
Mountain glories of Lebanon—a gift.
Awesome Carmel, stunning Sharon—gifts.
God’s resplendent glory, fully on display.
God awesome, God majestic.

Energize the limp hands,
strengthen the rubbery knees.
Tell fearful souls,
“Courage! Take heart!
God is here, right here,
on his way to put things right
And redress all wrongs.
He’s on his way! He’ll save you!” Isaiah 35:2-4

The day of Jesus is the day of JUSTICE! He will execute justice so take courage, justice will one day.
He will come with the recompense of God.
He will come with His Angels

For I, the Son of Mankind, shall come with my angels in the glory of my Father and judge each person according to his deeds. Matthew 16:27

The Sheep and the Goats
“When he finally arrives, blazing in beauty and all his angels with him, the Son of Man will take his place on his glorious throne. Then all the nations will be arranged before him and he will sort the people out, much as a shepherd sorts out sheep and goats, putting sheep to his right and goats to his left.- Matthew 25:31-33

Jesus draws from old passages when talking about His return.

This is only one example of the fair, just way God does things, for he is using your sufferings to make you ready for his Kingdom, 6 while at the same time he is preparing judgment and punishment for those who are hurting you.

And so I would say to you who are suffering, God will give you rest along with us when the Lord Jesus appears suddenly from heaven in flaming fire with His mighty angels, bringing judgment on those who do not wish to know God and who refuse to accept his plan to save them through our Lord Jesus Christ.
They will be punished in everlasting hell, forever separated from the Lord, never to see the glory of his power when He comes to receive praise and admiration because of all he has done for His people, his saints.
And you will be among those praising him because you have believed what we told you about him. 2 Thessalonians 1:5-10

It will be a time for singing Judges 5:1-4

God’s on his way again,
retracing the old salvation route,
Coming up from the south through Teman,
the Holy One from Mount Paran.
Skies are blazing with his splendor,
his praises sounding through the earth,
His cloud-brightness like dawn, exploding, spreading,
forked-lightning shooting from his hand—
what power hidden in that fist!
Plague marches before him,
pestilence at his heels!
He stops. He shakes Earth.
He looks around. Nations tremble.
The age-old mountains fall to pieces;
ancient hills collapse like a spent balloon.
The paths God takes are older
than the oldest mountains and hills.
I saw everyone worried, in a panic:
Old wilderness adversaries,
Cushan and Midian, were terrified,
hoping he wouldn’t notice them.
Habbakuk 3:3-7

Regarding the day of tribulation from the book of Enoch;

The words of the blessing of Enoch, wherewith he blessed the elect and righteous, who will be living in the day of tribulation, when all the wicked and godless are to be removed. And he took up his parable and said -Enoch a righteous man, whose eyes were opened by God, saw the vision of the Holy One in the heavens, which the angels showed me, and from them I heard everything, and from them I understood as I saw, but not for this generation, but for a remote one which is for to come. Concerning the elect I said, and took up my parable concerning them:

The Holy Great One will come forth from His dwelling, And the eternal God will tread upon the earth, (even) on Mount Sinai, [And appear from His camp] And appear in the strength of His might from the heaven of heavens.

And all shall be smitten with fear And the Watchers shall quake, And great fear and trembling shall seize them unto the ends of the earth.

And the high mountains shall be shaken, And the high hills shall be made low, And shall melt like wax before the flame

And the earth shall be wholly rent in sunder, And all that is upon the earth shall perish, And there shall be a judgement upon all (men).

But with the righteous He will make peace.

And will protect the elect, And mercy shall be upon them.

And they shall all belong to God, And they shall be prospered, And they shall all be blessed.

And He will help them all, And light shall appear unto them, And He will make peace with them’.

And behold! He cometh with ten thousands of His holy ones To execute judgement upon all, And to destroy all the ungodly:

And to convict all flesh Of all the works of their ungodliness which they have ungodly committed, And of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him. “1 Enoch 1:1-9”

Isaiah 63:1- 2-4,
The day of my vengeance and the day of my redemption has come.

The day of justice should burn in all of our hearts like it is in the heart of Jesus

He’s coming back to set the prisoners free
Psalm 102:13-16 ,19

Zephaniah: 2-7
Luke 21:
Joel 3:1
Exodus 39
Psalm 68:4,6, 7-8, 11-12, 24-25

Jesus is the bridegroom God of Sinai, who will lead the prisoners free with singing!

Isaiah 35:10 Singing the songs of ascent. Everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them
Psalm 47:5-8
Psalm 24:7-10

Zephaniah 3:14-15, 17

We will be a part of this with Him. Yahweh in our midst!
This was all foretold within the Old Testament

Many are still trapped and living in prisons they can’t break out of but Jesus made a way of escape. We are here but not just to hear what will happen when He returns, but to hear and then share so those we love don’t miss out on all He’s sacrificed His life to achieve!

Thank God! Call out his Name!
Tell the whole world who he is and what he’s done!
Sing to him! Play songs for him!
Broadcast all his wonders!
Revel in his holy Name,
God-seekers, be jubilant!
Study God and his strength,
seek his presence day and night;
Remember all the wonders he performed,
the miracles and judgments that came out of his mouth.
Seed of Israel his servant!
Children of Jacob, his first choice!
He is God, our God;
wherever you go you come on his judgments and decisions.
He keeps his commitments across thousands
of generations, the covenant he commanded,
The same one he made with Abraham,
the very one he swore to Isaac;
He posted it in big block letters to Jacob,
this eternal covenant with Israel:
“I give you the land of Canaan,
this is your inheritance;
Even though you’re not much to look at,
a few straggling strangers.

1 Chronicles 16:8-19 MSG

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NIV
