Matthew 5 Jesus fulfills the prophets. There is no more prophets after Jesus.

Jesus expressed qualities of God.

Jesus is called the Son of God in all four Gospels: Mt 3:17, 4:3, 8:29, 14:33, 16:16, 17:5, 26:63, 27:54; Mk 1:1, 3:11, 5:7, 9:7, 14:61; Lk 1:32, 3:22, 4:41, 9:35, 10:36, 19:7, 20:31

John 5:18 For this reason the Jews tried all the harder to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. Acts 17:27
