Who is Jesus?

Jesus said this about Himself:
Jesus Christ is the Son of God and equal with God -
‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth’” Matthew 28:18 TLB

Again Jesus explained himself:
“I’m telling you this straight. The Son can’t independently do a thing, only what he sees the Father doing. What the Father does, the Son does. The Father loves the Son and includes him in everything he is doing.

“But you haven’t seen the half of it yet, for in the same way that the Father raises the dead and creates life, so does the Son. The Son gives life to anyone he chooses. Neither he nor the Father shuts anyone out. The Father handed all authority to judge over to the Son so that the Son will be honoUred equally with the Father. Anyone who dishonours the Son, dishonours the Father, for it was the Father’s decision to put the Son in the place of honour.” John 5:17-22 MSG

When He was judged He challenged His accusers to find fault with Him:
“Can any one of you convict me of a single misleading word, a single sinful act? If I’m telling the truth, why don’t you believe me?” John 8:46 NLT

He understands our weaknesses since He had the same temptations we do, though He never once gave way to them and sinned. Hebrews 4:15 NLT"

He was tempted like we were – Luke 4:1-13

That He might bring us safely home to God. 1 Peter 3:18

Those who knew Him personally defended Him:
“From the very first day, we were there, taking it all in—we heard it with our own ears, saw it with our own eyes, verified it with our own hands. The Word of Life appeared right before our eyes; we saw it happen! And now we’re telling you in most sober prose that what we witnessed was, incredibly, this: The infinite Life of God himself took shape before us.

We saw it, we heard it, and now we’re telling you so you can experience it along with us, this experience of communion with the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. Our motive for writing is simply this: We want you to enjoy this, too. Your joy will double our joy!
1 John 1:1-4 NLT

This beautiful painting, Prince of Peace by Akiane Kramarik was painted after her experience in heaven and others with similar near death experiences have confirmed the likeness of this work.

Christ is the exact likeness of the unseen God. He existed before God made anything at all, and, in fact, Christ himself is the Creator who made everything in heaven and earth, the things we can see and the things we can’t; the spirit world with its kings and kingdoms, its rulers and authorities; all were made by Christ for his own use and glory. He was before all else began and it is his power that holds everything together. 18 He is the Head of the body made up of his people—that is, his Church—which he began; and he is the Leader of all those who arise from the dead, so that he is first in everything; for God wanted all of himself to be in his Son.

It was through what His Son did that God cleared a path for everything to come to Him—all things in heaven and on earth—for Christ’s death on the cross has made peace with God for all by his blood. Colossians 1:15-20 MSG

Here is God’s Final Word regarding His Son:

In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.

My Son is higher than the Angels:
For to which of the angels did God ever say, “You are my Son; today I have become your Father”?

And again,
“I will be his Father, and He will be my Son”?

And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, He says,

“Let all God’s angels worship him.”

In speaking of the angels he says:
“He makes his angels spirits, and his servants flames of fire.”

But about the Son he says,

“Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a sceptre of justice will be the sceptre of your kingdom.
You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.”

He also says,

“In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.
They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment.
You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed.
But you remain the same, and your years will never end.”

To which of the angels did God ever say,

“Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”?. Hebrews 1:1-13 TLB
