He took my place

Jesus, You took my place, you took the fall that I may live forever
You rose again you made a way, you broke the chains and now I’m yours forever.

The message of the cross sounds foolish to those on the road to destruction, but we see this message as the very power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18 NLT

Everyone has to die once, then face the consequences.

Christ’s death was also a one-time event, but it was a sacrifice that took care of sins forever. And so, when he next appears, the outcome for those eager to greet him is, precisely, salvation. Hebrews 9:27-28

Jesus, whom God raised from the dead, and we all are witnesses of this, now he sits on the throne of highest honor in heaven, at God’s right hand. And the Father, as he had promised, gave him the Holy Spirit to pour out upon us, just as you see and hear today. Acts 2:32-33
