What About Christmas?

We know that nothing lasts forever, so will the celebration of Christmas disappear one day?

It’s December and preparations for Christmas are in full swing, but changes in world thinking makes me wonder how long Christmas celebrations will last. Do you also wonder if one day the celebration of Christmas will fade away? We know that nothing lasts forever, so will the celebration of Christmas disappear one day?

The true meaning of Christmas has almost become redundant as people get into the swing of shopping for gifts for their loved ones and plan to spend time with family, but the debt that comes with all that gift giving brings a credit card burden that keeps them in debt for the next year… and Christmas comes around again and the cycle is repeated. For some the burden is too great so I can see why this cycle should be broken. Christmas celebration is vastly different to when I was a child.

I recently bought an old fashioned Christmas CD named Christmas with the stars, with carols sung by the stars like Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Rosemary Clooney, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald and others from my parents era. I love their sensitive renditions of songs like Silent Night, The First Noel and Away in a Manger with memories of happy times with family together and love all around…ah the good old days…

By today’s standards the music from so long ago was badly recorded but these were all big stars and famous in their day.

I couldn’t help noticing that words like Jesus being born of a virgin had already been changed to born of the chosen one – changes already beginning to hide the truth of history.

Happy Holidays, for fear of offending anyone is replacing Merry Christmas. Subtle changes that keep chipping away in a bid to nullify the truth of Christmas,  that Jesus was born of a virgin, came to bring the world salvation – all facts of history.

Jesus arrival was promised long before His birth…

We are only here a short while and we’ll too fade away. Life has already ended for many of the ones we put on a pedestal who sing on this Christmas CD and its our turn to decide what we’ll do with Jesus.

For a child has been born—for us!
the gift of a son—for us!
He’ll take over
the running of the world.
His names will be: Amazing Counselor,
Strong God,
Eternal Father,
Prince of Wholeness.
His ruling authority will grow,
and there’ll be no limits to the wholeness he brings. Isaiah 9:6

Our world will only keep turning until God decides it’s time to send Jesus back again. At that moment all opportunity to make your choice about accepting Jesus will cease as we each kneel before the King Of Kings.

Right now is your time to make a choice whether to accept the sacrifice Jesus made for your salvation and eternal life, or take the more popular road that leads to eternal destruction. The only guarantee you have is right now because we don’t know when our end will come and tomorrow may be too late. What you decide about Jesus is the only thin that will last and its the only thing that determines your destiny.

Promise fulfilled – the birth of Jesus is a fact of history!

Santa Claus isn’t our salvation, Jesus Christ is!
The celebration of Christmas has become increasingly irrelevant now, but that won’t change the outcome. No matter how the meaning of Christmas is distorted and dismissed, the truth of Christmas will remain. Christmas now and forever begins and ends with Christ!

Jesus paid the ultimate price so that you could have new life.
You will never be good enough to be worthy of His love but He offers it anyway.
He will never twist your arm to try to convince you, He’s already paid with His life.

So what have you done about His love for you? There will never be a more perfect time than right now to receive forgiveness, guidance every moment and a home with love forever, thanks to Jesus.

May you have a totally blessed Christmas celebration with your family,
