No Need To Fear

Sometimes things come across our paths that stop us in our tracks.

Right now as my husband and I wait for the results of more medical tests we are confident of this one thing… everything will be ok!

Why? Because the Bible tells me:
God is strong and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no afternoon athletic contest that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels.

I love this illustration that shows we can resist with just our hand. That’s the power we have as Christians. Jesus has done all there was to do, our victory is complete – the power of God’s Holy Spirit is ready, but we need to activate it!

It stands to reason, doesn’t it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he’ll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ’s! Romans 8:11

Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon.

In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out. Ephesians 6:10-18

We have all the weapons we need are already at our disposal but we must put them to use. We can’t do life without them if we want to be significant for God.

I remember someone once explaining that we a have a mansion in heaven waiting for us dependent on how obedient we are to God while we’re here on earth.

Likewise we have an arsenal of weapons but what a wast if we never take advantage of them:
Definition of Arsenal – a place where weapons are made or stored. : a group of things or people that are available to be used. …. So you have to wonder why we try to do things on our own, why do we specialise in looking at trouble around us instead of taking the help so freely offered for our defence? Satan is the one who’s defeated not us.

All of you, slave and free both, were once held hostage in a sinful society. Then a huge sum was paid out for your ransom. So please don’t, out of old habit, slip back into being or doing what everyone else tells you.

We have victory through Christ, 1 Corinthians 7:23 we are free and the price of our salvation is already paid. It’s time for us to armour up…

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes, for our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground. And after you have done everything, to stand, Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
Ephesians 6:10-18

I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world." John 16:33

So we have no need to fear during days of uncertainty when we know God is in control. He is the one who has the final say and the time is fast approaching when the devil will no longer be able to influence this world.
