All about Angels

God did this for us:
I look up at your macro-skies, dark and enormous,
your handmade sky-jewelry,
Moon and stars mounted in their settings.
Then I look at my micro-self and wonder,
Why do you bother with us?
Why take a second look our way?
Yet we’ve so narrowly missed being gods,
bright with Eden’s dawn light.
You put us in charge of your handcrafted world,
repeated to us your Genesis-charge,
Made us lords of sheep and cattle,
even animals out in the wild,
Birds flying and fish swimming,
whales singing in the ocean deeps.
Psalms 8:4-5

Then He provided us with angels to watch over us. The angels are represented throughout the Christian Bible as spiritual beings intermediate between God and men. The Bible describes the function of angels as “messengers”.

The heavenly messengers are only spirits and servants, sent out to minister to those who will certainly inherit salvation. Hebrews 1:14

Here God explains how angels are enlisted to protect us:

If you make the LORD your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your dwelling.For he orders his angels to protect you wherever you go. Psalm 91:9-11

If we obey God…
He will command his ANGELS concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. Psalm 91:11-12

The highest ANGELIC powers stand in awe of God. He is far more awesome than those who surround his throne. Psalm 89:7 NLT

God! Let the cosmos praise your wonderful ways, the choir of holy ANGELS sing anthems to your faithful ways! Psalm 89:5

Bless God armies of ANGELS, alert to respond to whatever he wills. … & you, O my soul, bless God! Psalms 103:21-22 MSG

There is joy in the presence of God’s ANGELS when even one sinner repents. Luke 15:10

You’re the one, God, you alone; You made the heavens, the heavens of heavens, and all angels; The earth and everything on it, the seas and everything in them; You keep them all alive; heaven’s angels worship you! Nehemiah 9:6

This Christian life is a great mystery, far exceeding our understanding, but some things are clear enough:

He (that is JESUS):
Appeared in a human body,
Was proved right by the invisible Spirit,
Was seen by ANGELS.
Was proclaimed among all kinds of peoples,
Believed in all over the world,
Was taken up into heavenly glory. 1 Timothy 3:16-17

Angels do exist and are strong and powerful like the God of the Universe they represent, waging war in the spiritual realm to keep God’s family safe.

Don’t forget to be friendly to outsiders; for in so doing, some people, without knowing it, have entertained ANGELS. Hebrews 13:2
