About Angels

When you think your faith has failed you, All your hopes and dreams are gone,
Listen to the Angel voice that whispers ‘Just hold on’…

But do we all have a guardian angel that is waiting to lead the way?

What is their purpose? What role do they play? Here’s what the Bible has to say about the role of angels…

They celebrate when someone who is lost finds their way…

“Imagine a woman who has ten coins and loses one. Won’t she light a lamp and scour the house, looking in every nook and cranny until she finds it? And when she finds it you can be sure she’ll call her friends and neighbours: ‘Celebrate with me! I found my lost coin!’ Count on it—that’s the kind of party God’s angels throw every time one lost soul turns to God.” Luke 15:10

They watch over us…

For He (God) orders His angels to protect you wherever you go. They will steady you with their hands to keep you from stumbling against the rocks on the trail. ‘Psalm 91:11-12’://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+91%3A11-12&version=MSG

They are here to help those who are on the path of salvation…

Angels are only spirit-messengers sent out to help and care for those who are to receive his salvation. Hebrews 1:14

They sometimes look like one of us…

Stay on good terms with each other, held together by love. Be ready with a meal or a bed when it’s needed. Why, some have extended hospitality to angels without ever knowing it! Hebrews 13:2

They are involved in separating those who love God from those who don’t…

“Or, God’s kingdom is like a fishnet cast into the sea, catching all kinds of fish. When it is full, it is hauled onto the beach. The good fish are picked out and put in a tub; those unfit to eat are thrown away. That’s how it will be when the curtain comes down on history. The angels will come and cull the bad fish and throw them in the garbage. There will be a lot of desperate complaining, but it won’t do any good.” Matthew 13:49

What do they look like?
When I tried to find illustrations for this blog I found many images of scantily clad females with wings, or children with angelic faces but is that what they really look like?

They worship God…

And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living beings. And they fell face down before the throne and worshiped God.

Angels worshipping God…

In the year King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord. He was sitting on a lofty throne and the train of his robe filled the Temple.
Hovering around him were mighty seraphim, each with six wings. With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with the remaining two they flew. In a great chorus they sang, “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty! The whole earth is filled with his glory!”
